Carson Boddicker is president and founder of Boddicker Performance, a company that took roots in Flagstaff, Arizona with a focus on improving performance in all athletic endeavors with a special interest in middle and long distance running.
Carson’s experience in performance enhancement stemmed from personal interest in his own performance that soon earned the attention of his teammates and competitors. A recurring injury in 2004 and 2005 and his interaction with a team of great soft tissue therapists and athletic development professionals served as his impetus to further enhance his knowledge of the human body as a functional unit and the various methods to facilitate performance and stress-resistance.
Carson took on his first client in 2005 and has since worked with clients with a range of abilities from neophyte to Olympian. His passion for teaching and giving back to the sport of track and field, which has been instrumental in his personal development, has led him to volunteer at numerous youth track and field camps and road races.
A lifelong learner, Carson invests time in the pursuit of interdisciplinary education both internal and external to the athletic development field. Carson has an extensive background in the biological sciences, holds a license in massage therapy, and is a USAW Certified Club Coach. His current interests include organizational analysis and behavior, motivation and decision making models, and neuroscience.
Carson has spent considerable time consulting with and learning from professionals in a litany of industries–from elite athletics, to neuroscience, to chronic pain, to data analysis–which have helped him develop a broad, flexible methodological framework from which he develops his programming. Carson draws on his knowledge of applied physiology, soft tissue therapy, and biomechanics to help facilitate athletic achievement.
Away from Boddicker Performance, Carson is a competitive middle distance athlete and horrendous golfer. He has been involved in running seriously for over a decade and remains dedicated to reaching higher levels of performance, while simultaneously testing his training theory.
